HANG IT PERFECTLY....
How do you know where on the wall to hang that beautiful picture? How high? How low? What angle? I promise you, it's not as complicated as it seems. Pictures and paintings are focal points which should grab your attention the moment you enter a room. They should bring balance. Firstly, get yourself a very, very cool drink. Take a few sips, then stand at least six feet away from the wall you intend to mount the picture on. If it's a front facing wall then it should be hung at a standard eye level. For instance, if it's hung over a bed or a sofa. You should be able to look right at it.
You shouldn't have to bend your neck to properly view a picture/ painting. Unless of course it's a very large surface and you are placing several pieces on the same wall. But if you're hanging several pictures, choose one focal point picture and make sure that it's at eye level. Then arrange the other photos around it for balance.
If the picture is small, then try to balance the room with other objects in the same vicinity like plants on a stand or lamps. If it's a bunch of small pictures place them close together to create some form of uniformity. If it's fat, center it. If the picture is tall, then that will let the ceiling feel higher than it is; so you can lower that picture a bit based on the size.
Pictures and paintings define a room. Make sure to place them strategically because they pull everything together. Never place them low. Frames make them appear more elegant. Think of the mood you want to create in that particular room then choose a picture that depicts that. See, it's not complicated at all. Have some fun with it. Or feel free to give us a call for a second opinion.
